So where have all of the Woodchucks gone?

Let us just take a little look at the last few weeks, shall we?

I spent a few days in sunny and very hot (but it's a dry heat) Arizona.

And I'm on one of the largest tour attractions in the US and what do I take pictures of????

Why a new Aston Martin of course, what else would you expect?

And then there was this little road with all of these turns and very steep. I think it was in San Fransisco somewhere. My little black steed was as playful as a kitty that just could not wait to pounce on the fun. However I must admit that some of the people taking pictures were just a bit put out when I kept cutting the rear loose to make the turns. The tyres sound really good spinning on the brick.

Oh the fun of it all.

I wondered where you were......

So, I was noticing the bridge. Car? What car. Beautiful bridge though.

:)

PS: Driving in San Fran? Ugh. Never. You are brave my friend, a brave soul indeed.

Hey! That's not Arizona! You can't fool me. Everyone knows there aren't any trees in Arizona; it's just all like rocks and desert and stuff. (Loved the Aston! Heck, the bridge you can see anyinte, it's not going anywhere.)

Flagstaff....it has trees.

I drove a rented Hon-die (worn out, weak brakes, smelled of cigar smoke, someone was going to die) down Lombard street the first time I was in San Francisco.

I think DG wins the brave soul award. WC's truck is immaculately maintained.

You think that's brave... have him tell you the story about the two of us going from Denver to Breckenridge in a 3-cyl. Daewoo. (Like 1 mile pretty much straight up, to fill in those who might live in Iowa.) And we were both much heavier then!

So, what car would you buy your kid???

There seems to be a general discussion running rampant around here about what type of car you should by a kid. And when said car should appear around the house. As I only have 4 years to pull this off, better start now. Things to consider before buying the car: 1. DD must complete 12 hours of flight time before taking test for permit. 2. Complete at least one driving school, Skip Barber , Bondurant Racing School , and so on. 3. DD must be able to change a tire, change the oil, do basic maintance on the car. I would like them to be able to strip down an engine and do a rebuild , however that may be just to much at this point. 4.DD must understand that I will not under any circumstance have or allow a pink car to park in front of my house. Cars come in four colors only, Red, Blue, Black, and British Racing Green. 5. Just what is the perfect Horse power to weight ratio? 6. Only one passenger in the car at a time. This is a good argument for a older British sports car that only has two s...

When do you take a Vacation?

I don't really take vacations, instead I take a lot of small trips with my family. I put the two little rodents in the back and we drive and enjoy time with each other. Although no one in the family is a road warrior like me, they do enjoy the destinations. I have not taken any days off this year and will take my "Vacation time" in December and have fun with the rodents. I guess I will never understand someone who needs to leave the kids with the Grandparents and go away for two weeks to some place expensive for a break. I mean, shouldn't you home life and family be where you want to go when you need a break. However, I do understand that this does not apply to my MIL....not going there.....not going there........We teach our kids to live and breathe in this world, don't do that, don't do this. But, do we ever teach our kids to have fun. Does anyone ever say do this, do that, or run wild and have fun? Next time you are driving down the road and you pass one of...

Year end review

Another year comes to a close.  Fantastic year for baking. Ending the year with spiced squash muffins. The persimmon cookies were a surprise hit.  Had a minir issue with the amplifier. Apparently letting the magic smoke out is a bad thing.  Added a new ride for Kelly and a new ride for me on the back of her ride. The princess is still a princess. Small child number two is now married. I was able to  invoke the oldest childhood tradition of no give backs.  Still at Garmin and doing well. Great company to work for. 380 miles on the new bike. It's been a long time since I racked up that many miles.  Upstairs bathroom remodel is complete. Not to bad for a beginner.
