Road Trip again

I leave Thursday for Salt Lake City, UT. It's only an 11 hour drive through some of the best country anywhere in the world. The weather should be great based on the forcast.

I have all of the Starbucks located for the trip. The mid day meal will come in LaGrande, OR. at Nelle's in and out for the best greasy frys to be found in Oregon.

The customer that I'm going to go and see Friday called today to let me know that the orginal plan of training from 8am to 3pm and doing 3 sessions in that time span has changed. I'm now doing a session from 10am until12 noon for about 20 people. This is a far cry from the 3 sessions of 30+ that were going to be there. I really should fly there and not drive. I think that I will look at last minute airfares and see what I can find.

Enjoy the trip. You never know when you go out to train, how many people will show up and how many of those will learn anything. I'd sooner have 20 who want to be there, pay attention and take something with them that they use, then 90 people who are there waiting for lunch because their boss told them they had to go.

As I sit here looking out my window and sipping my coffee I'm actually jealous. I travel so little now that I wish my job included travel (both driving and flying) and giving training sessions and staying in hotels.

Just for a while.....

Today was a good day..

I'm flying home today from Phoenix, AZ. First good thing: I was moved from my favorite seat in coach to a window seat in first class. Second thing: The guy sitting next to me did not want to talk and left me alone on the flight. Third thing: The flight was smooth and on time. Fourth thing: I'm walking out of the gate area at the airport when a TSA guy calls me over and ask me if I wanted an item, because if not he was going to throw it away. And you know it would be darn shame to throw out a nice bottle of...... Yes, that is correct, a nice 750ml bottle of Sauza Tres Generaciones 100% Puro De Agave Tequila. I'm now very...very ........tanked. Thank you TSA. I'm a 40% by volume Woodchuck.

snow...snow....snow

A free Herring or Walnut to who ever can guess my location.

People ask why.

Start of the trip...Here I am looking at the West end start of the Columbia River Gorge. Great River, trees, great places to eat, and sun, for a Woodchuck whats not to like? All of the pink are Cherry tress in bloom. The work is never done. The office is where the cell phone is. PS. No delay on take off and the AC blows cold and I always have a 1st class ticket.
